Overview

A strategic policy initiative focused on integrating the interests of Uganda’s fashion industry into the national Copyright and Neighbouring Rights legislative framework.

The Problem

Uganda’s fashion sector has historically been underrepresented in intellectual property policy, leaving designers, models, and creatives vulnerable to exploitation, copyright infringement, and lack of legal protection.

• Spearheaded the development of a fashion industry white paper
• Coordinated input from fashion entrepreneurs, designers, and stakeholders
• Engaged in discussions aligning fashion with national copyright policy
• Positioned the industry within broader creative sector advocacy
